Mykonos

Nov 12 - Cruise

We went to the port of Piraeus by subway. This picture is the subway station of Pireaus.
At 8 am, our ship left the port for Mykonos on time. The ship was a regular ferryboat, it cost only 4,000 Drachmes (= $10).
I was able to look at the Temple of Poseidon, which stands on Cape Sounion.
The ship stopped two islands on the way to Mykonos. One island was Syros, the capital of Kiklades islands.
Next island was Tinos. Its town is smaller than Syros'.
Mykonos came into the view. It took about 6 hours from Piraeus. But if we flew, it would take only 25 minutes !
As soon as we got to Mykonos, we began to walk around the town. Houses and paths are white, sky and Aegean sea are blue. Such view was my dream, so I became really happy. By the way, a lot of tourists visit Mykonos in Summer, but few tourists visit there in Winter. So the town was quiet.
This is Hotel Leto. It was so pretty. I'd like to stay once again some day.
This is the view of the sun set from Leto. How beautiful it was !

Nov 13 - Windmills

Mykonos is famous for its windmills. In the morning, we went there.
When Satoshi and I looked at Aegean sea near the windmills, a Japanese woman come up to us. Her surname was Ishihara. She traveled around the Middle East alone, after that, she came to Greece. We talked with her for two hours.
Ishihara would leave Mykonos in the afternoon, so we decided to see her off. Her hotel was on the hill, so the view was nice.
After seeing Ishihara off, we went to the inland of Mykonos and found a junction. Satoshi and I decided to take different ways respectively. I took the center way of picture.
People in Mykonos believe in Greek orthodox. So there are many churchs in Mykonos. Most of churchs are pretty.
I found sheep. Thay fixed their eyes on me.

Nov 14 - Delos

In the morning Satoshi turned on TV. We watched Pokemon.
We went to Delos Island, which is one of the World Heritages, from Mykonos by boat. When we got to the port, we were so amazed that we met Uchida Hiroki, our friend in high school ! He was traveling round the world. Wow !
As soon as the boat got to Delos, we climbed up the hill and overlooked the island. It was nice view.
We found a mosaic. It was built in 3th century BC.
We were able to enter most of ruins. it seemed as if we were explorers.
This is the Terrace of Lions. It's symbol of Delos.
The sea around Delos was the clearest of which I've seen in my life.
The boat left Delos. It was windy and the boat rolled in the waves. So I got seasick.
There are 3 pericans in Mykonos. People loves them.
A homeless dog followed us. We looked at the sun set with Uchida and the dog near windmills. After that, we said goodbye to them and went to Mykonos Airport.
Next destination was Heraklion in Crete Island. We took a propeller airplane.
